I am a hard core renewable energy enthusiast. Since childhood I wanted to make a difference to the world I live in. When I started my journey into the world of electrical engineering, I instantly felt the connection towards renewable electricity generation and I graduated as a Bachelor in Engineering with a Gold Medal. I qualified GATE with All India Rank 5 and joined the prestigious Indian Institute of Science (IISc), where I completed my Masters in Power Electronics and received the prestigious POSOCO Award for best Master's thesis in Power engineering. I was so inspired to electrify my nation that I forwent the Indian Engineering Services offer and continued for PhD in Solar Photovoltaics at IISc, where I could be found mostly on roofs playing with solar panels or in my lab deciphering the science behind energy conversion. Towards the end of my PhD I received BASE fellowship from IUSSTF and was sent to Northeastern University for research exchange. During this time I was introduced to the power group at MIT and was offered a postdoctoral fellowship at Laboratory for information and Decision Systems at MIT. During my postdoc I expanded my forte to modelling and optimization of multi-energy systems and looked at microgrid control and optimization. In January 2022 I was invited to Aalborg University to serve as an Assistant Professor in Energy Department. Denmark is a beautiful country and gave me new perspective on Energy storage solutions. In October 2022 I joined IIT Gandhinagar to contribute towards India's net zero transition. With constant motivation from my professors and colleagues I have been able to contribute to the research community through several publications and a patent so far, and am looking forward to build a strong team of inspired researchers who strive towards excellence through teaching and research in the years to come.

India is world’s third largest producer and consumer of electricity, yet a large number of people in our country do not have access to quality power. India being a tropical country receives more solar energy then the combined capacity of all our fossil fuel reserves. If this renewable energy source can be utilized to its full efficacy, it will solve our energy unavailability problem and remove India's dependence on fossil fuel imports. This has been my primary motivation towards green energy research. Globally, every place has its unique set of resources and technology is evolving every moment which brings a fundamental change to people's energy needs. How we can optimize source side resources and load side demand in order to enhance quality of life in a sustainable way while moving towards a low-carbon emitting green world is my vision.
