Congratulations to Jagruti Patil for securing First Runner-Up in the Poster Presentation at the National Technical Symposium “BioImpact 3.0,” organised by the Department of Biotechnology, School of Engineering & Technology (SoET), Pandit Deendayal Energy University.

Dr Himanshu Shekhar has been elected to the Board of the International Society for Therapeutic Ultrasound (ISTU), the leading global society in therapeutic ultrasound, for a three-year term commencing after the ISTU Symposium in June 2026 at Trondheim, Norway, where they will represent the Asia and Australia regions.

We bid farewell to our Postdoctoral Fellow, Dr Vishwas Trivedi.

He will be joining KLA Corporation, Chennai, and we wish him all the best for his future.

Dr Himanhsu Shekhar joined the Scientific Advisory Board of Verasonics Inc. in March 2026 and participated in a 3-day technical meeting in Singapore, engaging with leadership and global researchers to discuss advances in ultrasound technology.

Dr Himanshu Shekhar and Dr Karla P. Mercado Shekhar also attended the 2nd Ultrasound Communities of Practice Meeting hosted by A*STAR (Agency for Science, Technology and Research), where an invited talk on therapeutic monitoring and microvasculature imaging was delivered, contributing to discussions on strengthening Singapore as a global hub for ultrasound research and innovation.

Dr Pratibha Mishra, Associate Director at Celegence, delivered a seminar titled “Navigating Global Regulatory Pathways for Medical Devices” at the Centre for Biomedical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar, and shared insights on global regulatory strategies, medical device classification, CDSCO, FDA and CE frameworks, and clinical evaluation, which was well received by students and faculty.

He will be joining the School of Electronics Engineering at Vellore Institute of Technology, Chennai Campus, as an Assistant Professor (Senior Grade 2), and we wish him all the best for his future.

Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar’s Research Capsule showcased work from the MUSE Lab on an improved Passive Cavitation Imaging approach (prDSI) for enhanced monitoring of therapeutic ultrasound. Abhinav Kumar Singh, a PhD candidate in the Department of Electrical Engineering, led the work in collaboration with researchers from the University of Chicago.

Dr Himanshu Shekhar and Dr Karla P’ Mercado Shekhar visited the National Institute of Technology, Raipur and delivered talks at the Department of Biomedical Engineering, sharing research and engaging with faculty and enthusiastic students.

Members of the MUSE Lab, Ruchika Dhawan and Manu K. S., presented two talks and three posters at the European Symposium on Ultrasound Contrast Imaging in Rotterdam, Netherlands, showcasing work spanning contrast-enhanced imaging and acoustic metamaterials. The lab thanks the symposium organizers and the ultrasound research community for valuable feedback and discussions.

Jagruti Patil , a PhD candidate from MUSE lab at IIT Gandhinagar, received the CIRE award from the Committee for International Research and Education (CIRE) of the Acoustical Society of America.
