I'm an Engineer turned Neuroscientist interested in understanding the most complex machine in the universe. My undergraduate degree was in Computer Science Engineering from Delhi College of Engineering followed by industrial experience. I was intrigued by the brain and switched to Neuroscience. After pursuing a Master's degree in Computational Biology, I started a Ph.D. in Psychological and Brain Sciences at Boston University working with Prof. David Somers on attention, working memory, and predictive models of cognition in healthy and patient populations. Then I worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Center for Brain Science at Harvard University working with Prof. Randy Buckner to understand the function and organization of large scale brain networks focussing on subcortical regions like the pons, dentate and the thalamus.
Shreesh Mahapatra graduated with a dual degree (B.Tech + M.Tech) in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Kharagpur, with a specialization in Systems Design, Dynamics, and Control. His research interests span neuroscience, surgery, robotics, and control. He is currently working on analyzing the effects of brain tumors on BOLD fMRI signals across different brain regions. Outside the lab, Shreesh is passionate about sports and is an active swimmer.
Sagnik De completed his B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) in 2025 from the Institute of Radio Physics and Electronics, University of Calcutta, Kolkata. A dedicated and ambitious researcher, he has actively contributed to academic research, with his work being presented at several IEEE conferences. Additionally, his research findings have been published in reputed journals. His primary research interests span Artificial Intelligence & IoT in Healthcare, Biomedical Signal Processing, Human-Computer Interaction, Computational Neuroscience, and Medical Image Analysis.
Anukriti completed a BSc in Psychology and Entrepreneurship from Ashoka University and is currently a Master's student in Cognitive Science at IITGN. She is interested in furthering knowledge about the motor system to advance motor rehabilitation caused as a result of neurological disorders. At the Integrative Neuroscience and Technology Lab, Anukriti leverages fMRI data to investigate how the newly recognised Somato-Cognitive Action Network (SCAN) is implicated in Parkinson's Disease. This project also explores if specific changes in SCAN are related to Parkinson's etiology.
Rhilee is a Master's student in the Cognitive Science program at IIT Gandhinagar. With a foundational background in Computer Science from my Bachelor's degree, Rhilee is now focused on exploring fascinating areas such as time perception, memory systems, consciousness, and the applications of AI/ML within these domains.
Mahwash is an undergraduate at Ashoka University, majoring in Biology with a minor in Psychology. Currently, Mahwash is conducting a meta-analysis of resting-state fMRI studies to investigate alterations in large-scale brain networks associated with autism. She is passionate about forging a path in research that integrates neurobiology, genomics, and advanced computational approaches to build frameworks that uncover the intricate complexities of neurodevelopmental and neurodegenerative disorders, ultimately advancing personalized and predictive approaches to brain health.
Rajat is a Master's student in the Cognitive Science program at IIT Gandhinagar. He's currently working on models of working memory and investigating activity in prefrontal cortex and hippocampus. He completed his Bachelors in Computer Science at DTU. He's passionate about sports.
Arnav is a Master's student in the Cognitive Science program at IIT Gandhinagar. He's currently working on artificial neural network models of visual cortex.
