Prof. Karla Mercado-Shekhar received a $500 Early Career Travel Award to participate in the 186th Meeting of the Acoustical Society of America from 13th-17th May 2024 at Ottawa, Canada. She also co-chaired the special session “Return of the Writer” with Dr. Kevin Haworth (University of Cincinnati) and Dr. Julianna Simon (Penn State University).

Profs. Himanshu Shekhar and Karla Mercado-Shekhar has been appointed as members of the Technical Program Committeeof the IEEE International Ultrasonics Symposium (IUS). Their term duration is 3 years.
Prof. Himanshu Shekhar was recognized as an Expertscape Expert in “Contrast Media”. He has been rated as within 1% of world experts in the field.

Ananya Sharma (MTech graduate) received the President’s Gold Medal and theInstitute Gold Medal for her outstanding academic performance at IIT Gandhinagar.
Chandan Kumar Jha, PhD for receiving the Gold Medal for Outstanding Innovation. Chandan was advised by Arup Lal Chakraborty for his Ph.D. thesis and was working in the MUSE Lab as a Postdoctoral Fellow.
Prof. Himanshu Shekhar was awarded the Har Govind Khorana-Innovative Young Biotechnologist Award by the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India. This award includes a 3-year fellowship and a research grant, which will enable Prof. Shekhar to pursue ultrasound-based approaches for treating breast cancer.
Prof. Himanshu Shekhar was awarded the Star Ambassador Lectureship Award for 2020 from the IEEE Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics, and Frequency Control Society. This award supported him through funds to present his research at several institutions, in addition to providing networking opportunities.
