We believe that high-quality healthcare technologies should be equitable and widely accessible. Ultrasound is growing rapidly as a diagnostic and therapeutic modality and has the potential to significantly impact healthcare delivery.ย  The Medical Ultrasound Engineering (MUSE) Lab at IIT Gandhinagar develops innovative ultrasound-based technologies for the diagnosis, treatment, and management of diseases. MUSE Lab is equipped with cutting-edge research facilities and our faculty and trainees have received international recognition and several awards for their research and leadership in the field of biomedical ultrasound.

Profs. Karla and Himanshu are co-teaching a 30-hour MOOC titled “Biomedical Ultrasound: Fundamentals of Imaging and Micromachined Transducers” with Prof. Hardik Pandya from IISc Bangalore. This course is a part of the National Program on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) and is available freely to audit by anyone in the world. Students from India are welcome to credit the course, if they prefer, by appearing for in-person exams. Check out the course website (link here)!ย

The 1st IEEE South Asian Ultrasonics Symposium (SAUS) at IIT Gandhinagar was a great success! Thanks to the participants for joining us and supporting this inaugural event.
