Innovating at the Intersection of HCI, AI and NeuroSci
At HAIx Lab (pronounced as [hai-ks] Lab), we emphasise the interdisciplinary approach blending Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Neuroscience (NeuroSci) to: 1) deliver intelligent technologies and systems; 2) transform community health and care.
Our research is dedicated to creating AI systems that are intelligent, and efficient but also transparent, and understandable to users. Human-AI interactions should be intuitive and beneficial, fostering trust and collaboration between humans and AI systems. This approach ensures that our technologies are developed, focusing on the users and making AI more accessible and easier to integrate into everyday life (see Research).
Concept behind the name “HAIx”
HAIx, pronounced as [hai-ks], represents an amalgamation of ideas considering the variable letter ‘x’ position. For example, the letter ‘x’ not only represents interactions and interfaces between humans and AI but also:
- ‘Ix‘ could represent the interactions and interfaces between humans and AI.
- ‘Hx’ could represent the concept of human or user experience.
- ‘xAI‘, could represent explainable AI, an essential concept fulfilling the idea of human-centred AI.
- ‘AIx‘ could represent a bright future beyond the current state-of-the-art, covering all the possible extensions of AI for the benefit of the human community.
- and many more …
We are located at the beautiful campus of the Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar, India.
