Dr Himanshu Shekhar<\/strong> has been elected to the Board of the International Society for Therapeutic Ultrasound<\/span><\/span> (ISTU)<\/strong>, the leading global society in therapeutic ultrasound, for a three-year term commencing after the ISTU Symposium in June 2026 at Trondheim<\/span><\/span>, Norway<\/span><\/span>, where they will represent the Asia and Australia regions<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dr Himanhsu Shekhar<\/strong> joined the Scientific Advisory Board of Verasonics Inc.<\/span><\/span><\/strong> in March 2026 and participated in a 3-day technical meeting in Singapore<\/span><\/span><\/strong>, engaging with leadership and global researchers to discuss advances in ultrasound technology.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dr Himanshu Shekhar<\/strong> and Dr Karla P. Mercado Shekhar<\/strong> also attended the 2nd Ultrasound Communities of Practice Meeting hosted by <\/strong>A*STAR<\/strong> (Agency for Science, Technology and Research)<\/span><\/span>, where an invited talk on therapeutic monitoring and microvasculature imaging was delivered, contributing to discussions on strengthening Singapore as a global hub for ultrasound research and innovation.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dr Pratibha Mishra<\/span><\/span><\/strong>, Associate Director<\/strong> at Celegence<\/span><\/span><\/strong>, delivered a seminar titled \u201cNavigating Global Regulatory Pathways for Medical Devices<\/em>\u201d at the Centre for Biomedical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar<\/span><\/span><\/strong>, and shared insights on global regulatory strategies, medical device classification, CDSCO, FDA and CE frameworks, and clinical evaluation, which was well received by students and faculty.<\/span><\/p>\n

Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar<\/span><\/span>\u2019s Research Capsule<\/strong> showcased work from the MUSE Lab<\/strong> on an improved Passive Cavitation Imaging approach (prDSI) for enhanced monitoring of therapeutic ultrasound<\/em>. Abhinav Kumar Singh<\/strong>, a PhD candidate in the Department of Electrical Engineering, led the work in collaboration with researchers from the University of Chicago<\/span><\/span>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Members of the MUSE Lab, Ruchika Dhawan<\/strong> and Manu K. S.<\/strong>, presented two talks and three posters at the European Symposium on Ultrasound Contrast Imaging<\/strong> in Rotterdam, Netherlands<\/strong>, showcasing work spanning contrast-enhanced imaging and acoustic metamaterials. The lab thanks the symposium organizers and the ultrasound research community for valuable feedback and discussions.<\/span><\/p>\n
