Our main quest is to find the functions of the human <em>THAP9<\/em> Gene, which codes for a mobile element derived protein using molecular biology and computational biology methods (and thus, the lab name). We are also interested in other interesting open questions in biology like the role of non-coding genomic elements in genomic evolution, development and diseases, specifically focusing on mobile genetic elements and long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs). We are also interested in emerging computational methods like application of big data biology in solving fundamental biological puzzles.
